A few days ago, we asked many Facebook users whether or not they have ever been pushed to tag the can of Coke they are holding a Facebook picture. And guess what, many of them have.
Coca-Cola’s Facebook page now has many pictures of fans posing with their favorite fizzy drink in their hands. Coke had encouraged fans to do so within hours of the announcement made bu Facebook. Many other brands, like Starbucks’s and Zappo, have aso posted up pictures as well.
Facebook may soon enough monetize the feature by removing the whole manual concept from it. Instead of it being completely voluntary and tagging the photo yourself, Coca-Cola could do it for you, resulting in a real-life product placement, something we’ve been seeing in movies for so long.
So is this another Facebook functionality? Or is Facebook bringing commerce sidy by side social interactions?
